In the post below DarkLochnagar offers a different story. While I don't know the specifics of his situation, he says that Europeans are horrified by the United State's current health care and that he couldn't get insured so is grateful for free healthcare. I still don't hear overwhelming support for nationalized healthcare so his may be a special case. I hear more cases like those posted in the youtube video and read more negative experiences from other bloggers who have experienced the type of healthcare offered in other countries. Over and over the response I hear and read is overwhelmingly pro-privatized healthcare and pro-United States medicine so go figure. You can read the youtube video comments here.

7 groundbreaking observations:
How does anyone take Michael Moore seriously? I know many people in Europe are horrified at where the US is heading, and they are on record saying we will regret it.
I found this video compelling. Especially the comments and attitudes of the workers in the Canadian health system. They fully knew how badly they were treating people.
Wealthy people worldwide have traditionally come to the USA for the best possible medical care.
If we are swept up in national healthcare, that will end.
However it might work well for me. I'm SERIOUSLY looking at real estate in Mexico immediately across the US border. I can relocate American doctors there and provide world-class healthcare for Americans, in Mexico.
So maybe National Healthcare will work for me and will allow me to create personal wealth.
The video says a lot. All I know is that I want to keep my choices and if I can get health insurance then so can most everyone else. If there is something that needs to be addressed in the rising cost of health care it's the insurance companies who regulate costs on top of frivolous lawsuits. How about people get fighting mad about these issues instead of letting our administration pull the rug out from under those who still enjoy some semblance of autonomy and choice.
I doubt the tort lawyers will allow nationalized health care to get past the preliminary debate.
If they do happen to force socialized medicine down everyone's throats I want to see members of congress, their families, hollywood etc..be forced to use the same services they are lobbying for so ferverently.
Hammer: With respect, you're living in a dream world if you expect Congress, members of the state-run media, Hollywood or any of the uber class to stand in line for hours to see a nurse the way you do in Canada.
LL: Hammer seems pragmatic to me so I'm thinking it isn't far-fetched to say that his comment was less than hopeful on the chances of that happening.
